About: Tim Dineen
Many of you may know me as the (former) Online Marketing Manager from Indeed.com where I worked from Jan. 2007 until I left the company mid-2009. During my time at Indeed, I helped that company grow its online traffic to nearly 20 million unique visitors per month! From Techcruch 8/21/09: Indeed Now Gets The Most Pageviews For Job Searches In The U.S. It was a great experience working there. I learned a lot during that time - performing search engine marketing for a search engine is truly a unique experience. I also became enamored by the impact I can have in helping people find work through my marketing efforts.
I was able to help Indeed grow so quickly because I already had a decade of experience in online marketing (of one form or another) before joining the company. It turns out I was early to the concept that businesses could use the Internet for marketing (SEO), advertising (PPC) and public relations (Social Media). But at the time, back in 1997, I just figured I'd use this new medium to create a job for myself to make use of my new degree in Journalism/Public Relations.
In 1997, I bought a simple domain name "Exposure.com" which was still freely available at the time and I taught myself some HTML. I honed my web development skills working for the local newspaper and ultimately I set out to help organizations promote and PR themselves on the web. In doing so, I created what would become the Internet consulting firm of the same name Exposure.com which led me on a tremendous learning experience over the decade that followed.
Now, I'm the Vice President of Internet Marketing at Onward Search - the leading Internet marketing recruiting company in the U.S. I joined Onward because I felt extremely positive about their involvement in the Search Marketing community as well as their belief in my ability to assist their cause. In this position, I am also able to carry forward the recruitment marketing focus from Indeed and stay within the employment sector of search engine marketing.
